How it works

1

Medical diagnosis

If you are experiencing symptoms such as joint pain, stiffness and swelling, talk to your doctor about whether you have osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis changes the composition of the joint fluid, and its ability to lubricate and absorb shock is largely diminished.

Where OA comes from ?

Osteoarthritis is caused by the breakdown of cartilage, a firm, slippery tissue that eases the friction in your joints.

It can happen in any joint but usually affects the fingers, thumbs, hips, knees or big toes. It is a slowly progressing joint disease that does not have specific cause, but there are some factors that can increase the risk of developing osteoarthritis:

Genetic joint defects
Advancing age
Excess body weight
Specific medical conditions
Sport injuries or overuse
